Lihue, Hawaii
Lihue, the largest city on the island of Kauai, is located at the southern side of the Coconut Coast that extends 10 miles from Kappa to Lihue.
The area is the most developed on Kauai, but is still much less crowded than similar tourist developments on the other islands.
The town of Lihue itself is small and pretty ordinary. Lihue Airport, just east of town serves as the main gateway to Kauai.
Hotels in Lihue are located oceanfront within two miles of both the Airport and downtown.
